My first meal in Japan was one of my favorites: Parent & Child. No, I am not going cannibal!
Oyako Don. Oya means parent and ko means child. It's chicken, the parent, and egg, the child, over rice.

Hello Ms. Shafer!! love your blog!!!!!! i was thinking if we are having the Japanese club next year maybe you can get some recipes to make some food in class. I can't wait to se what new things you're gonna tell us about your trip when we see you again. Take care.
I'm a teacher at Media Academy in Oakland, California. I'm starting this blog to log my travels to Japan this summer, a trip I'll make with a grant from Fund for Teachers. I hope some of my students will read this as I explore Japan and collect stories and multimedia to bring back to them.
